Escalations

Monster Escalations that affect PoIs and/or Settlements

This is something that they talked about possibly having several times, but there hasn't been any definite word. I would like to see the possibility that Monster Escalations expand to the point of taking over PoIs and Settlements, or at least move into their Hexes and cause confrontation. Whether they can take over PoIs or possibly Destroy them, and disrupt Settlements and supply lines. I would like Monster Escalations ...more »

Crafter's marks

Implement "Maker's Marks" for crafted items. A text field that is auto-filled is attached to all crafted items based on item attributes. "Excellent Sword of Frost Damage, by Padrone, from Talonguard" for example. Optionally allow a short blurb by the maker to be used instead or with the auto-filled text, for a small fee. This allows Crafters to establish a brand awareness for their work, and also serves as a reminder ...more »

Road Building

I'd like to see road building prioritized, and in EE as soon as possible. Roads should be build-able FROM settlements and then out into civilized hexes, and offer movement benefits, particularly for caravans. I would also like to suggest that road building cost and time be affected by commoner, expert, and aristocrat effort (by skill).

Community Management

Settlement Info Panel for Residents

A settlement will potentially be made up of dozens of Companies and while I assume many settlements will have out of game websites for communication, I'd like to see an in game "bulletin board". This could be a place to quickly see what the immediate goals are, what type of resources are needed, maybe criminal activity in the last 24 hours, recent PvP activity, maybe job postings, etc..things your character would know ...more »

Animals

I don't know if Animals are really planned right now, but I would like to see them implemented. They would be separate from regular monster spawns and escalations, as well as being a source for in game resources. They could even be used with the same mechanics that generate nodes. The equivalent harvesting node might spawn 1-3 animals, while a gathering node might spawn an entire pack of animals in an area. If they ...more »

User Interface

Customizable UI

We should be able to move around UI windows or buttons freely on the screen and lock them in place. Shadowbane had this functionality and it was really helpful to organize your UI just how you wanted. I am not talking about full on mods or anything, just the ability to move stuff around and change opacity.

Gear

dyeing clothing

1: alchemical dye as optional crafting ingredient allowing crafter to select colour(s) on certain items (clothing, shields, light armor, etc).

2: allowing crafters to use dye to change colour(s) on existing items

Escalations

Cause/aid escalations

Giving players the ability to cause escalations or aid them on their way if they have the appropriate skills/feats. Example: An evil mage summoning more devils to aid in an escalation form Hell.

Custom Patches/Battle Standards

I would like to see Patches and Battle Standards to be introduced in game. These would allow for recognition of various groups in and off the battlefield, as well as allow for a better level of organization.

Also, it would go hand in hand that we be able to submit sigils/art/graphics to be used in game for Patches and Battle Standards.

All Submitted Sigils/Art/Graphics to GW would become the IP of GW.

Player Character Structures

Dynamic settlement ambience

This is pure fluff so lower priority than implementing mechanical systems, but it'd be really neat to have the visual and auditory esthetics of a location change based on the settlement's membership and their personalities. More bloom and happy music in good locations. Smoke, darkness, and ominous tones in evil ones. Trash on the streets in chaotic places. Bunnies frolicking and lots of greenery in druidville.

User Interface

Functionality to flag certain Companies as Allies

Company leadership should able to set other companies as Kill on Sight "Red" on the mini map or Allies "Green" on the mini map. Where other players in your company are "Blue" on the mini map. Maybe if a company is not on any of these lists they show up as grey dots on the mini map. If your company is in a feud with another company they are automatically "Red", for example. For the kind of big scale battles PFO will have ...more »

Combat

Archery: elevation increases range

It does what it says on the tin.

If archers can use high ground to increase their maximum range, this would be tactically important to set up on these spots and lead to defending these spots with melee and/or ambush such sites knowing archers will try to use the high ground to gain an advantage over attackers.

Terrain

Terrain as impediment or boon

I've proposed this once on PFO forums, but it never hurts to repeat.

Any decent MMO have complex nechanic to determine speed and direction of such movement on slopes. So why not to add some movement coefficient linked to textures (soft earth for reduced speed, paved road for enhanced speed) and vegetation (bushes, high grass)? This will heighten immersion and move combat decisions to new level.

Community Management

Settlement Info Panel for Non-Residents

When approaching the border of a settlement you don't belong to you could get access to basic information your character would know.

Possibly the alignment/rep, Laws, trainers available, maybe even a note from management. "We welcome all merchants, except gnomes" or "Trespassers shot on sight"

It would simulate a roadside posting or just rumors your character would know.

Escalations

Escalation Randomization

As the game progresses I think it would be interesting for escalation sites to contain random monster tables. For instance a swamp hex may not always produce the same escalation cycle but could pull from a number of different cycles for that area\terrain type. Swamp hexes may have lizardfolk, goblins, or any other host of swamp dwelling creatures instead of being static.

Ability to set multiple pricing tiers for sales

When we setup our merchants, give us the ability to set different tiered pricing. (Assuming we get NPC merchants/clerks to sell thru and don't have to be online 7/24 to sell) For example, I am a resident of SettlementA. My merchant should allow me to set different discounts based on the purchaser's relation/affiliation to SettlementA, or other criteria. Scenarios: (I'm going to use "eu" for "Economic Unit", or gold, ...more »
